A Season of Giving: How Your Support of the Tutu Challenge Made a Difference

As we wrap up another holiday season, we can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible generosity of our community. Thanks to your support and the help of our amazing sponsors through our annual Tutu Challenge and Toy Drive, we were able to spread joy to numerous kids and families in need. Here’s a look at the impact we made together!

We raised a total of $17,500 in monetary donations, including the sponsorship from Tropical Smoothie and a large donation from Milestone Mortgage Solutions’ Reindeer Run.

But that’s not all! We also collected $2,500 worth of toys through various toy drives, helping us bring even more smiles to children in our community.

With those toys, we were able to provide gifts to students at 5 other schools and school systems in our region. We delivered gifts to more than 350 children at the Carlos Pacheco Elementary School in New Bedford and 200 kids at the Talbot School in Fall River. We also provided toys to Sippican School in Marion, Old Hammondtown and Center School in Mattapoisett, and several schools in Fairhaven.

The Mattapoisett Fire Department and the Fairhaven Call Firefighters Association were a huge help in distributing the toys to all of the students. We also worked with the Rochester Police Department to distribute toys in that town.

Thank you to everyone involved, including all the volunteers who helped wrap many of these gifts. We truly appreciate everyone’s part in this. We certainly could never do it alone.
